Benediction Based on I Peter 2:21-25

The Lord Is My Shepherd by Zaki Baboun
This is the kind of life we've been invited into,
the kind of life Christ lived.

Jesus suffered everything that came with being fully human
so we would know that it could be done,
and also know how to do it...

Jesus suffered [but was] content to let God set things right,
even all the way to death on the Cross
so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way.
Ironically, that suffering became our healing.

We are often like lost sheep with no idea who we are or where we are going.
But we don’t have to be. We can follow a shepherd that we can trust in,
who wants us to find the unforced rhythms of grace and live there.

As you go this morning, remember all that God has done
on our behalf to set things right.

Seek out ways to partner with God to bring
healing and new life to our homes,
our community and the world beyond our walls.
